Buteo jamaicensis  Red-tailed Hawk
The Red-tail is an open country species, often seen perched atop isolated trees in fields and clearcuts. These tree-nesting carnivores breed primarily in the Pine Region, although they do nest regularly in the northern part of the Mississippi Alluvial Valley.
